Routes that are "public-transport-friendly"

With the aim of tackling climate change, routes that are particularly easy to reach by public transport should be given a particular distinction and recommendation.

Arriving the 'climate-friendly' way

Routes with different starting and ending points are particularly suitable, but in order for them to be recommended, specific criteria has to be met.

You can use the filter "public-transport-friendly" when searching in the route finder.

Criteria

  • Regular train and bus connections

There is a regular service to the final stop, especially on weekends (from morning to evening, at least every two hours)

  • Connection for long-distance travelers

For the journey from the nearest station, no more than two further connections by train or bus should be necessary (note short transfer times)

  • Distance to the route's starting point

The starting point of the route should be quick and easy to reach from the final stop (a maximum of 15 minutes)

  • The journey by public transport is well described

The final stop and, if applicable, the bus number and direction should be shown.

  • Additional information about regularity and a timetable are helpful. Please use the provided text field "Public transport'.

slightly longer travel times are acceptable for routes that last several days
